About Aaron

Born in Lincoln, just out of Christchurch, I'm proud to say I'm a pretty typical kiwi fella. Except one thing. Instead of getting into more main stream sports, 22 years ago I started dancing. First with Irish, but I found it hard that I wasn't allowed to move my arms. So at the age of 9 it was off to Ballroom and Latin American lessons. I started because the eldest of my three sisters was getting married and my mother wanted me to learn the wedding waltz. So off to lessons it was for me. At first it took a bit of persuasion but I soon began to love it. See for me dance and movement is a passion. It was always something to get lost in, connect to something special and express myself. And so with many years practice and lessons here I am today.

I feel very lucky with the opportunities I have had. I've traveled and represented New Zealand overseas, I've competed at the highest levels and for a time lived and danced in Australia and England.

Now days, I am based in Auckland with my two children. My little man Ethan (7) and My 'Sassy' little lady Grace (5). I feel very blessed to have such beautiful children and although I don't get much sleep, I love every minute. Their support during 'Dancing with the Stars' was amazing and seeing their reactions watching 'Dancing Dada' dance was awesome.

'Dancing with the Stars' is a great experience. The people involved are a magic group and I have made some wonderful friends. Dancing with and getting to know my partners and all involved was fantastic.

I had a great time making the show and lot of laughs. A big bonus was it was for charity. I had the pleasure to meet and be involved with a great group of people. The Children's Cancer Foundation, Parents Inc. Hospice New Zealand and The New Zealand Spinal Trust. They are awesome groups and a really special bunch of people. I strongly reccomend supporting these groups as they provide such valuable services. I have had the pleasure to meet and dance for them and I feel very privileged that I could work with and continue to raise money for such worthy causes.

Since the show I have some great opportunities and experiences and continue to do so. I want to say a huge thankyou to all that supported me, without it we could not have won. I'm now looking to the future and what it hold for me and my children and I'm really excited about what life has to offer.

Thankyou. AG.
